1.  Don’t Pick that Zit!

Yes this one is obvious, but people still do it. Do not pick or squeeze at your face. A simple beauty rule is to keep your hands off of your face, except to clean or moisturize. You run the risk of causing scars when you pick at your face. You can also transfer oil and dirt onto your face when you are touching it.

2.  Massage your Temples

Massaging your temples and the surrounding areas on a regular basis, can help to remove deep shadows and stubborn bags. Use your favorite moisturizer and rub in thoroughly. This will help to fade the dark coloring of the tissue, by improving circulation in the area, and it will give you a more refreshed look.

3.  Brittle Hair and Nails

If your hair and nails are brittle and lackluster, add in a daily vitamin supplement. These supplements are very affordable and will produce noticeable results within three to four weeks. Take one tablet daily and you will notice that your hair appears fuller and glossier, and that your nails are smoother, stronger, and more attractive.

4.  Flip Flops at the Salon

One of the leading causes of smudged and botched pedicures straight out of the salon is putting your shoes back on. It seems like common sense, but many people forget to wear flip flops to their appointments and nobody wants to wear the paper-thin pedicure thongs. Pack a pair of flip-flops so you can go about your business without damaging your glossy new pedicure.

5.  Brown eyed girl?

If you have striking brown eyes, you can play them up by adding eyeshadow, liner, and mascara in colors that are especially flattering for your eye color. Look for rich, matte shadows in shades of green, copper, and blue. These colors add depth and intensity to your eye color, especially when topped with a few coats of mascara.

6.  Gel blush

Use a gel or creme blush instead of powder. This type of blush gives your skin a glowing and healthy look. Gel and creme blushes are more transparent and blend more evenly than regular powder blush. You should rub this blush on your cheeks and blend upwards for a flawless finish.

7.  Fabric Softener sheets

Keep some fabric softener sheets on hand for beauty emergencies. Fabric sheets can be used to tame a static skirt that wants to stick you your legs. It can do the same for wild hair. Another thing it is good for is running through your hair to quell obnoxious odors like smoke.

8.  Heated Eyelash Curler

For added impact and eye-opening, beautifully curled lashes, use a heated eyelash curler. If you would prefer to use a regular eyelash curler, you can create a similar effect by giving your curler a quick blast of a few seconds with your hairdryer. This will help to hold the curl and prevent smudging.

9.  Hair Conditioner on your Legs

If you have run out of shaving cream and you don’t want to use soap to shave your legs because of the drying effect, then use hair conditioner! Coating your legs with conditioner before shaving will soften the hair and make it easier to shave, leaving the legs feeling very soft and silky.

10. Use Heat Protectant Spray

Always apply a heat protectant spray to your hair before using a curling iron, flat iron or hair dryer. Heat can damage your hair, leaving it brittle, dry and full of split ends. Just like their name implies, heat protectant sprays coat your hair to protect it from the heat. This allows it to stay smooth, sleek and shiny no matter how you choose to style your hair.

11. Midday Color

If you want to add a pinch of color to your face midday, consider stocking up on a stick of cream blush or a gel-based cheek blusher. Apply a small amount to the apples of your cheek, then blending in circular motions. This keeps your face looking fresh in a natural and easily applied in a manner that is especially flattering.

12. Avoid Refined Foods

Avoid refined foods as part of your daily beauty routine. Refined foods take away most of the nutrients that would naturally be found in whole foods. Often times the good things are replaced by chemicals and fortifiers. Your overall health will vastly improve, not just your skin, nails, and hair.
